Pastor V's report

Sunday afternoon Sept. 30 was a wonderful day of the Lord. Churches and many concerned citizens from Grahn, Globe, Olive Hill, Willard, Hitchins, Rush, Stinson, Grayson and all over Carter County assembled to display prayerful support to an ongoing effort to alleviate our families and friends from despair and hopelessness brought about by the giant of addictions.

As group, after group, after group began to walk onto the campus of Kentucky Christian University, hearts were uplifted and parents who had felt so alone saw for themselves, the people of God do care and can come together to pray.

Many had heard of the rallies at New Beginnings Assembly of God, as two, to three hundred gathered together to strengthen and encourage each other. But now it was no longer word of mouth, but public display that was speaking to broken hearts, captives to substance and immorality, desperate parents, confused children, public officials, politicians, the judicial system and people all around Carter County has ENOUGH.

Please notice I did not say had enough, but has ENOUGH.

This is not something we had; it is something we have; Every Neighbor Outreaching Uniting Giving Hope. One paper said 1,650 people were there, some said 4,000 and some of our firemen and police officials said 3,450. I suppose in a crowd such as we had, and the march on foot with people in vans, buses and even on motorcycles, it would be a human impossibility to have the accurate count; however, we know this for sure, the evidence of a miracle working God was all around us as this great multitude came together.

From the depths of my heart, I want to thank you on behalf of the organization you have come to know as ENOUGH. I want to thank KCU for their gracious hospitality, the police officers from Olive Hill and Grayson, the sheriff’s department, Kentucky State Police, Grayson Fire Department and other fire stations that covered for them while they protected us, Carter County EMS, the city, county and state officials that helped make this possible and everyone that sacrificed for this wonderful event in Carter County.

So, where to from here? ENOUGH continues on with training seminars, working with the churches, schools, public officials and concerned groups to help and serve all who are putting forth an effort to help. We are here not only as support groups for the addicted, but also for those who have ministries, means and methods of outreach. Our next rally will be in Olive Hill, watch the paper for information. Our next show of support will be the city building in Grayson, Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m. (please wear yellow shirts).

Some have asked, “Just what do you bring to the table?” Please allow me to emphasize: It is not what we are bringing to the table, but the table we are bringing. We are here to offer to each and every person, the table of God’s grace, which breaks down all divisions “Jew nor Greek, male nor female, bond nor free.” The Lord Jesus Christ, who has healed more broken hearts, set more captives free and turned more lives around than any government, country, medical procedure, therapeutic treatment, drug or religion in world history, has set this table and declares to the addicted, the broken hearted, the desperate and those that feel hopeless. “Come and Dine.”
