LUMINARIA CEREMONY

One of the most touching activities of the evening is the Luminaria Ceremony, which will be held at dusk.  Tammy Nischan will be our speaker this year. “

“Luminarias, decorated with the names of those remembered and those honored, are lit and left glowing throughout the night to remind everyone of the importance of their contributions.”

The luminarias have a recommended contribution of $10 each, with a minimum donation of $5, and may be purchased the night of Relay, with all funds going to Relay.

Bowling explains, “This will be our second year we have added a celebration where sky lanterns (small hot air balloons) will be released during the luminaria ceremony.

These sky lanterns have a recommended donation of $25 and can be purchased at the Relay event or reserved ahead of time by emailing or calling Linda Arnett at lndarnett@yahoo.com or 606-255-0573.
