Assault suspect captured

Oct. 8, 2012 — A Kentucky State Police manhunt led to the arrest of Ty Jacob Doolen, 26, of  Rush Monday.  

Information was received on Monday evening that Doolen was traveling in a vehicle on KY 1458 in the area of KY RT 5.  Troopers responded to the area, located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. 

The search for Doolen began on Sunday, Oct. 7 when KSP received a call of an assault that had occurred in Rush.

Amelia Hall, 31, of Rush was located at the residence and was unresponsive. The investigation revealed Amelia had suffered multiple injuries which varied in nature and location. Boyd County EMS responded to the scene and Amelia was transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Doolen was arrested without incident, charged with first degree assault and has been lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center.
