Dec. 22, 2013 — Carter County sheriff deputies have apprehended a dangerous fugitive.
Aaron Uhlmann, 43, was apprehended by CCSO Deputy James Frint on Sunday morning and is now lodged in the Carter County Detention Center.
Deputies say Aaron Uhlmann was wanted on multiple charges including assault and domestic violence.
Uhlmann allegedly called 911 on Friday and told dispatchers he had beaten his wife. When law enforcement arrived, he was nowhere to be found.
Uhlmann was believed to be armed and dangerous, since he is known to possess firearms and shotgun shells were found in the vehicle in which he fled. Uhlmann later stole a pickup truck and was believed to be headed toward Carter County.
The victim was flown to a trauma center where she reportedly remained in the intensive care unit on Saturday, but no other information is available on her condition.
