City may leave FADE to balance budget
A new budget for the city of Olive Hill was tabled at Tuesday night’s special City Council meeting.
When the agenda item was brought up, Mayor Kenny Fankell introduced the budget that had been created in a Council work session.

Details for Grayson alcohol sales decided
Grayson City Council and the City Planning and Zoning Commission met Tuesday night to discuss the upcoming alcohol sales ordinance.
Clarification of article on coroner’s expenses
Due to a reporter’s error, the July 17, 2013, issue of the Journal-Times stated that Carter Fiscal Court had informed Coroner George Sparks that his backdated expense claims could not be paid because they had been submitted too late.
The Fiscal Court actually stated that the claims could not be paid from last year’s budget because it had already been closed out at the end of the fiscal year on June 30. The Fiscal Court did not refuse the pay the claims.
The Journal-Times regrets the error.
Grayson Lake claims victim
Thomas (Tommy) Livingston, 24, of Ashland, died last Tuesday in a Huntington hospital without regaining consciousness.
He was swimming in Grayson Lake last Monday afternoon when he went under and had to be pulled out by a bystander.
