A total of 90 pieces of art ranging from paintings to books and photography will be on display during Final Friday Art and Antiques Walk at Grayson Gallery and Art Center in the show “Peace and Love.”
A reception will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 22 at the gallery.
The Grayson Rotary Club is a sponsor and donated $100 for the “Best Themed” piece.
“Since Rotary International’s theme this year is ‘Peace Through Service,’ we wanted to use the ‘peace’ part of that and combine it with the ‘love’ idea since it is the month of love, and you know how we love the arts and artists,” said gallery coordinator Dan Click.
“We plan to give a People’s Choice award at each show this year,” he said. “We also plan to include several more organizations and businesses as partners in the future so we can offer more awards and services to artists via their sponsorship.”
Click said the gallery will provide the award money for People’s Choice.
The Whipps with Tom Berry on percussion will provide live music during tonight’s event and local writer Keri Kitchen will have her books for sale. The gallery is on the corner of Carol Malone and Third Street.
