03/05/13 — Joan Kay Thompson Brown, 71, of Olive Hill, passed away Monday evening, March 4, 2013, at her residence.
She was born March 2, 1942, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Ben and Alma Henderson Thompson.
Joan was a member of the Garvin Ridge Wesleyan Church and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of eight years, Daryl Brown Sr.
Joan is survived by one daughter, Sherry Donner of Houston, Texas; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Mary Ruth Thompson, Ben and Mary Alice Thompson and Terry and Kim Thompson, all of Olive Hill; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and James Butler of West Jefferson, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves many other family members, church family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Dale Collinsworth and Brother J. C. Bond officiating. Burial will follow in the Junior O.U.A.M. Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, and until the service hour Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
