04-19-12 — Mr. Bradley Kincaid "Joe" Kiser, 84, of Olive Hill, passed away Thursday evening, December 6, 2012, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland after an extended illness.
He was born April 14, 1928, on his family farm where he resided for 82 years in what was then known as Wesleyville, a son of the late CR "Cart" and Ollie Hern Kiser.
Mr. Kiser served two years in the Army as a sergeant, serving with the 70th Combat Engineers Division during the Korean War. He was also a heavy equipment operator and farmer and served on the Carter County School Board in the early 1960s. He had also attended Carter Christian Holiness Church of Carter City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Louise Van Horne Kiser; one daughter, Belinda Kiser Oakley; two brothers, Tammie C. Kiser and Hager H. Kiser; and three sisters, Hazel McGlone, Dorothy Keely, and Lois Frazier.
Mr. Kiser is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Randy Kiser and Kimberly Kiser, both of Carter County, Michael and Leigh Kiser of Rockmart, Ga., and Steven and Marsha Kiser of Mantachie, Miss.; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Lowell Jude of Winchester; one sister, Dorris Frazier of Mt. Sterling; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Nancy Akers Kiser of Grayson. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, many other family members, and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Pastor Russell Bud Burnett and Pastor Bill Burnett officiating. Singing will be performed by his nieces, "The Smith Family". Burial will follow in the Kiser Cemetery on Ky. 2 in Olive Hill with full military honors conducted by the Olive Hill American Legion Post No. 138.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012, and until the service Sunday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
