Archie and Louise King Callihan will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, April 27.
The couple was introduced by Mary Lou Scott Kiser at her home on Lower Smokey. They were married on April 27, 1963 in Olive Hill, after a three month courtship.
The service was performed on Henderson Branch by Riley Jessie at the home of the groom’s parents, John and Ora Callihan. In attendance were the bride’s father, Edmon King, who served as the best man and the bride’s first cousin, Elizabeth Kocher, matron of honor.
They were blessed with four children: Donnie (Pam) Callihan, of Elliott County; Ora Ann (John) Carroll of Olive Hill; Gary (Marlena) Callihan of Lomansville and Clyde (Kim) Callihan of Grayson. They have 14 grandchildren: Ty, Harley, Morgan, Katrina, Martikki, Kimberly, Courtney, Brooklyn, Josh, Jacob, Luke, Logan, Patrick, Sarahjo and four great-grandchildren: Jaiden, Christopher, Leon and Whitney.
Their children will be honoring them with a reception from 12:00 to 3:00, on Saturday, April 27, at the Gregoryville Christian Church at Gregoryville. Friends and family are encouraged to attend to celebrate this joyous occasion.
