Mineral orders taken now

December 12, 2007 — The Northeast Area Livestock association is now taking orders for the Group Winter Mineral mix. Two minerals will be available again. A complete mineral with high-magnesium is available for $10.75 per 50 lb. bag. A complete mineral with high magnesium and bovatec is available for $13.65 per 50 lb. bag. Bovatec is an ionophore that aids the digestion of roughages in ruminants and is very well worth the extra money. Both minerals are also good goat minerals but Bovatec is toxic to horses. Orders will be taken until noon on Friday, December 14th and should be available for pickup by December 20th.

Hinton and Son Feed Mill in Plummers Landing won the bid

again for the order. Hintons will deliver minerals to Grayson at a predetermined date and time or minerals can be picked up at your convenience at their store in Plummers Landing. To place an order, call the Carter County Extension Office at 474-6686. Anyone can place an order regardless of whether you are a member of the association or not.
